Priority registration for 2018-2019 Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) career events is now open.

If you would like to receive announcements about upcoming events, contact us.

Two event package options for priority registration are outlined below. If there are remaining spots as of June 1, registration for individual events will be made available. Please note that space is limited and registration will be closed when capacity has been reached.

Full Year Package – $5,000
Includes the following events:

  • MPA Meet the Firms: A Speed Networking Event (Fall) | Thursday, August 23, 2018

MPA Career Lunch
Date:
Wednesday, August 22
Time: 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Description: At the MPA Career Lunch, a variety of speakers will address topics affecting their company and/or industry such as market trends and regulatory changes. As a participating organization, you will have an assigned table for representatives to interact with students throughout the meal and educate them about available career opportunities. Additionally, you may submit a proposed topic and speaker biography for review and possible selection by a UT committee composed of faculty, students, and staff. A brief networking dessert reception at the end provides a chance to connect with additional students. Newly admitted traditional MPA students are the primary audience.
Representatives: There is a maximum of 2 representatives for this event.

MPA Meet the Firms: A Speed Networking Event

Thursday, August 23
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Description: The fall session of MPA Meet the Firms: A Speed Networking Event provides a venue to connect with students in a format that offers both structured speed networking and open networking. The primary audience is incoming traditional MPA students.
Representatives: There is a maximum of 2 representatives for this event.

MPA Mock Interview Marathon Day
Date:
Tuesday, September 4
Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Description: MPA Mock Interview Marathon Day allows you to create a student-friendly image, build your company brand on campus, and identify great candidates early by conducting mock interviews to help students improve their interviewing skills. The primary audience is third-year MPA students, though all MPA students are welcome to attend.
Representatives: Single afternoon half-day or full-day schedules are available.

MPA Industry Night
Date:
Wednesday, September 12
Time: 4-8 p.m.
Description: MPA Industry Night offers the opportunity to market your organization to MPA students through a series of mini–information sessions dedicated to industry. After the sessions, students will have the option to connect with all participating employers at a reception. It is the perfect venue to inform students about career opportunities within your organization and then meet with them one-on-one. The primary audience is third-year MPA students, though all MPA students are welcome to attend.

MPA Careers in Focus Series – Single Session
Date: 
Various dates and throughout the fall
Description: The MPA Careers in Focus Series provides a platform to demonstrate “day in the life” and practical application scenarios in the profession, while highlighting opportunities within your organization. The primary audience is third-year MPA students, though all MPA students are welcome to attend.
Representatives: 3-4 companies will participate per session with a maximum of 1 representative per company.

MPA Blog & Newsletter: MPA Career Services can highlight your postings and events in our MPA Weekly Blog and email newsletter for current students by request.

Resume Books: MPA Career Services offers employers complimentary access to resume books produced throughout the year. The full-time book is released in August and the internship book is released in January. Additional books may be available. If you would like to receive our resume books, request to be added to our mailing list.

Skills Workshops: The Professional Skills Series offers students an opportunity to learn career-relevant technical and soft skills through individual workshops taught by current professionals. Contact us to learn more about presenting. Presenters may host “office hours” following the workshop to meet and mingle with students.

Open House: Do you currently or would you like to host an open house event in your office for candidates interested in your organization? Showcase the opportunities and benefits of working for your company at a date, time and location that works best for your professionals. Send us the details and we will help market your open house to our current and incoming students per your requirements for eligibility.
