Awarded to faculty who have distinguished themselves as academic leaders, professorships provide the support necessary for these promising scholars to remain at the forefront of their field. Often used for program development and to supplement budget allocations, professorships encourage faculty to expand their activities and those of their students in the areas of teaching and research.

Dr. William Howard Beasley III’s legacy includes a life that demonstrated the highest standards of personal integrity, academic accomplishment, and public service. The mandate of the William Howard Beasley III Professorship in the Graduate School of Business is to develop Dr. Beasley's concept of a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving. This endowment allows the study of economics, law, political science, liberal arts, and entrepreneurship to be incorporated into the curricula, adding a new and broader dimension to the graduate business education program.
