Post-9/11 GI Bill
The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
Effective August 2011, the GI Bill will pay all public school in-state tuition and fees, including graduate programs. As part of a public university, The University of Texas at Austin, the full-time Texas MBA program is one of the few top ranked MBA programs that allows you to take advantage of this opportunity for significant financial support. Benefits may include up to 100 percent of in-state tuition and fees, a monthly living allowance, and an annual books stipend of up to $1,000 per year.
If you are a veteran we encourage you to visit the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Post-9/11 GI Bill website for more information and to determine your eligibility. The New GI Bill website’s Benefits Calculator is another helpful tool to estimate the benefits you may be entitled to. When you are ready to have your benefits certified by the university, please submit your documents to the Office of the Registrar.
The Hazlewood Act provides qualified Veterans, spouses, and children with an education benefit of up to 150 hours of tuition and fee exemptions at state supported colleges or universities. For more information and to determine if you are eligible to receive support through the Hazlewood Act, visit the Hazlewood Act website. Documents can be submitted to the Registrar's Office through Hazlewood@austin.utexas.edu.
