McCombs is dedicated to providing a world-class MBA experience for all of its students. Each year, international students comprise 25 to 30 percent of the incoming class. The unique mix of countries, cultures, races and religions (not to mention a wide array of personal and professional backgrounds) enlightens and enriches the MBA experience – inside and outside of the classroom.
The collaborative environment and inclusive nature of McCombs is evident on a daily basis through study groups designed around diversity and student organizations such as the International MBA Student Association (IMBASA), which celebrate cultural traditions and provide support for international students adjusting to life in a new country. See the variety of international student organizations available on our Student Organizations page.
Outside of McCombs, the international community extends throughout the University of Texas at Austin campus and the city of Austin through events and celebrations including festivals, dances and more.
The University of Texas at Austin's International Office provides many useful resources for international students looking to make a transition to student life at UT. Explore information about financial aid, visas and other documentation, housing and more on the UT International Office website.
Event Highlight: International Night
Each year the International MBA Student Association (IMBASA) and the Texas MBA+ Leadership Program host the largest MBA event of the year, International Night. With almost 1,000 attendees, this event gives MBAs from all over the world an opportunity to open the doors to their culture for their classmates with a night of food, dancing, traditional games and entertainment. The evening is a multicultural celebration featuring an exciting blend of representatives from more than 20 countries. The popular event gives MBAs an opportunity to take a break from their academic rigors and discover the diversity of McCombs.
