Joe Hahn

Joe Hahn

Joe Hahn is a Clinical Associate Professor of Finance and Director of the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) Program in the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. He is responsible for developing the energy curriculum in the MSF program and also assists with admissions and employer relationships. Dr. Hahn teaches courses in corporate finance and valuation of energy investments and he supervises MSF practicum projects in the energy industry. He formerly worked for BP and BP heritage companies Vastar Resources and ARCO Oil and Gas in a variety of environmental engineering, reservoir engineering, financial management and planning roles. Dr. Hahn holds a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering, M.S. degree in environmental engineering, MBA and Ph.D. in management science, all from the University of Texas at Austin.

Scott Lauger

Scott Lauger is the Graduate Program Administrator for the MSF program, charged with keeping the program running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Scott is the first point of contact for all admission inquiries and application questions from prospective students. He also oversees student services for current students, including orientation, registration, graduation, and any issues related to campus life.

Renée de Lota

Renée de Lota is the Career Services Advisor for the MSF program, and her involvement with students begins as soon as they are admitted to the program, as she begins preparing them for their eventual career search. Renée works throughout the year to assist students with their job search, incorporating a wide variety of training activities including workshops, career panels, and networking opportunities. Simultaneously, Renee works steadfastly to establish and maintain valuable relationships with the employers that recruit and hire MSF students.

Lainey Hoffman

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Lainey Hoffman holds a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and Master’s degree from Northern Arizona University. Initially a recruiter for the hospitality industry, Lainey has over eight years of experience in collegiate career services, including a director position with Vatterott College, and as a graduate level career course instructor for Colorado Technical University. As a senior advisor with Le Cordon Bleu Colleges, Lainey’s clients included Hilton, Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Disney, and Food Network. She is also heavily involved with community organizations, and has served as Chair of the Tourism Advisory Board and as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Cedar Park.
