MS Programs Video IntroductionThe Texas McCombs MS Bridge Program admissions option is available to University of Texas at Austin undergraduate students for all four degrees: Business Analytics, Finance, Information Technology & Management, and Marketing.

The MS Bridge Program offers students the opportunity to start graduate courses during their undergraduate program. Admission as a Bridge Student is highly competitive but includes a number of benefits, including:

  • Admission after junior year of undergraduate degree
  • MS degree coursework during the summer after junior year
    • A Pathway Two admissions options is available for students who have confirmed internship offers for the summer after their junior year - contact your specific Program Coordinator for details
  • Time for internship upon completing bachelor's degree
  • Access to McCombs' Career Services after successful completion of summer coursework
  • GMAT/GRE score waiver

Applications for the Master of Science Bridge Programs are now open! Applicants to the Bridge Program should be undergraduates at The University of Texas at Austin with junior-level standing.

The deadline to apply is May 6, 2019.

What to Expect as a Bridge Student

If accepted into the program, here are a few details about what the summer between your junior and senior year would look like:

  • 1-week orientation in July - dates for orientation and classes will be provided to applicants admitted to the program. 
  • 2-3 summer classes running Monday-Thursday
  • Career Development events on various Friday

As a Bridge Student, you have the opportunity to network with two different groups of MS Program students. You'll learn with some of the best and brightest in the field and make connections that will last into your professional career.

You will also have access to our MS Programs specific Career Coaches and can set up meetings to discuss your future career path. Career Coaches can help with resume review, goal setting, and career strategies to secure an internship following your senior year.

Qualified applicants to the MS Bridge Programs should meet the following criteria:

  • Junior academic standing 
  • Strong communication skills
  • A Bridge Program Application
    • Personal Essays
    • Letters of recommendation
    • Resume
    • Admissions for the MS Bridge Program is highly competitive. Students may be required to submit test scores at the request of the admissions committee depending on GPA and strength of additional application materials.
  • Program specific coursework must be met:
    • MSITM specific coursework
    • MSBA specific coursework
    • MSF specific coursework
    • MSM specific coursework

Calculating Bridge Tuition Rates

The Texas McCombs Master of Science Programs offer an incredible value for students pursuing their graduate degree in business. The Bridge Program offers two Pathways - I and II - for students to gain admissions to the Master of Science Degrees. For Pathway II students, tuition costs are as listed on our main tuition page.

Both Pathway I and Pathway II students pay a pre-enrollment tuition fee to secure their seat in the program. This fee will be credited towards the overall cost of the program and is not in addition to tuition.

Watch our video on Federal Loans. Domestic applicants and applicants who are permanent residents can apply for most loans through the university’s Office of Student Financial Services. To apply for federal and state assistance, students will need the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need to authorize The University of Texas at Austin to receive your FAFSA information by entering the following Title IV School Code: 003658. We strongly recommend that you begin applying for financial aid as early as possible. You can check the status of your financial aid application at the Office of Student Financial Services webpage or through your status check page. If you need assistance with your financial aid application, please contact our Accounts Manager.

International Students

Financial aid for international students, including loans and merit-based assistance, is very limited. International students who apply should be prepared to finance the entire period of proposed study from personal funds. Please note that in addition to program tuition and fees, international students are responsible for health insurance fees and the ISSS student support fees.

All international applicants who plan to enroll at The University of Texas at Austin in F-1 or J-1 status must submit the Certification of Financial Responsibility Form even if they are currently living in the United States. Questions regarding the completion of the form should be directed to: (please note that the Certification of Financial Responsibility form is used for immigration document processing, not for admissions purposes--therefore, the form is not required for the completion of an admissions application).
