Appointment of Chief Marketing Officer

Dear McCombs Community:
At the culmination of a yearlong process to develop a fresh and distinctive brand campaign, and a search for a senior executive to lead the charge, it is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Emily Reagan, MBA ’99, to the position of Chief Marketing Officer at Texas McCombs. She will assume her role on March 5, 2018.
Emily comes to us from Bazaarvoice, where she has worked since February 2012, most recently serving as senior vice president, integrated marketing. She has extensive strategic management experience in the marketing field, including senior-level positions at Wunderman DC, Music & Arts (a division of Guitar Center, Inc.), Radio Shack Corporation, and TXU Energy. She is a proven leader in building brands, driving marketing strategies, and optimizing customer experiences in both consumer and business-to-business environments. 
Many of you will know Emily as an actively engaged MBA alumna of the school. She has supported McCombs initiatives as a chair, committee chair, and member of the McCombs MBA Advisory Board since 2012. She was profiled in McCombs Today as she assumed her role as chair of the advisory board. In that profile, she is quoted as saying, “I only hope I can give back a fraction of what this school has given to me.”
I am confident this position of responsibility will give her ample opportunity to fulfill that wish. The CMO position was established as a core element of our strategic plan, to integrate our marketing strategy and resources across the school to the end of creating a national and global brand image to compete with our elite peers in business education. Emily’s senior leadership will ensure that our marketing systems, talent, and goals are fully aligned with our powerful new brand position, Human Centered and Future Focused.
Let me also take the opportunity to express my profound gratitude to Teri Thompson, who served as our CMO in residence over the past year, during a time when her guidance and wisdom were most valuable. Her influence in the creation of our new graphic identity and brand guidelines will be felt for many years to come.
I would also like to thank Professor Srinivasan and the entire CMO search committee, along with all of you who helped with the process. This is a great outcome and we could not have gotten to this point without your efforts.
