Gretchen Charrier Chosen for 2014 Faculty Honor Roll

Congratulations to Gretchen Charrier for being chosen for the Fall 2014 Faculty Honor Roll!

The Undergraduate Business Council and BBA Programs Office awards the Faculty Honor Roll to faculty members who performed exceptionally well in the previous semester. Recipients are chosen based on the overall instructor number as well as other evaluation points that are important to students.


Granof Re-Appointed to a Second Term on the GASB

Michael Granof, EY Distinguished Centennial Professor at McCombs, was re-appointed by the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) to a second term on the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), effective July 1, 2015. Dr. Granof is also currently serving his second term on the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB), making him the second person to ever serve on both boards concurrently.

Judson Caskey Wins Zephyr Prize and Best Discussion Award

Professor Judson Caskey had a very successful fall, winning 2 awards at conferences along with a couple of forthcoming publications.

Donna Johnston-Blair Honored by HBSA

Lecturer Donna Johnston-Blair was honored at the 2014 Hispanic Business Students Association's Annual Professor Appreciation Dinner. Of the many events hosted by the HBSA each year, the Faculty Appreciation Dinner aims to give members the opportunity to build positive student-teacher relationships with their professors.

Established in 1976, the Hispanic Business Student Association is committed to bringing out the best in its members and preparing them for success in the corporate world.


Bob George Chairs Conference with Record Attendance

Lecturer Bob George served as the chairman of the AICPA National Oil & Gas Conference held November 18-19th in Denver, Co. The conference, co-sponsored by the Professional Development Institute(PDI), enjoyed record attendance this year as CPAs and finance professionals gathered to learn about the financial, legislative and political issues facing the oil and gas industry.

As Director of Energy Programs & Conference for PDI, Bob also co-chaired the National Oil & Gas Royalty Conference in Houston in November. According to PDI, the National Oil & Gas Conference is recognized as one of the best places “to obtain information about rules, regulations, court decisions, activities of various organizations and current practices and developments that assure participants an up-to-date understanding of royalty determination and payment.”

Since 1973, PDI has provided education, information and training at the University of North Texas.
