Genaro Gutiérrez

Dr. Genaro J. Gutiérrez is an Associate Professor of Management at the McCombs School of Business, The University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches operations and supply chain management, as well as project management in the MBA programs and in executive seminars. He is also the Director of the Executive MBA Program that the University of Texas teaches in Mexico City.

Before joining The University of Texas in 1988, Dr. Gutierrez worked in industry for five years. He was a Visiting Professor at The Anderson Graduate School of Business at UCLA in 1993-94, and served as advisor to the Economic Deregulation Unit of the Mexican Commerce and Industry Secretariat in 1995 and to the Finance Director of the Mexican Institute of Social Security in 1996-1997.

Dr. Gutiérrez current research interests include the management of sourcing and procurement relationships in manufacturing supply chains and projects. His recent research has been published in Operations Research, Management Science, Operations Research Letters, IIE Transactions, and The European Journal of Operations Research.
