Michael Peterson is a Managing Director at the Pemberton Economic Group and a Lecturer in the Department of Management at the McCombs School of Business. As a Lecturer at the University of Texas, Michael teaches graduate and undergraduate entrepreneurship courses that focus on identifying opportunities for new technologies, market validation, building a team, funding a venture, and landing the first customer. In his role at the Pemberton Economic Group, he has conducted in-depth evaluations of over 30 early stage innovations with market potential of $7.3B+. Analysis includes market size, competitive intelligence, market interest and an assessment of risks and barriers to successful product launch. Prior to joining the Pemberton Economic Group in 2010, Michael ran a division for International Paper as a General Manager. Michael is a Co-Director of the Startup Grind chapter based in Cedar Park, TX. Startup Grind is the largest independent startup community, actively educating, inspiring, and connecting more than 1,500,000 entrepreneurs in over 500 chapters globally. Michael holds a Master of Science in Technology, Business and Innovation (MSTC) from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, an MBA from Brigham Young University and a BA in Communications.
