  • Michael Clement Named AACSB Influential Leader

    The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a global nonprofit that connects educators, students, and businesses to create the next generation of great leaders, honored Department Chair Michael Clement as a 2022 AACSB Influential Leader. 27 people received this year's award, and we are honored to announce that Michael was chosen as one of the 27 recipients!   • BRADY WILLIAMS PROMOTED TO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

    In fall 2021, Dean Mills announced the promotions of five McCombs faculty members; Brady Williams made that list. Brady joined the Department of Accounting in 2015 and is teaching Corporate Tax. He recently received the EY Amplifier Award, a testament to his commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive workforce. Congratulations on your promotion to Associate Professor, Brady!

    Join us in welcoming our our four newest PhD students to the Department of Accounting! Mary Adenle, Nathan Hermann, Kenzie Kingsley, and Albert Wang all joined Texas McCombs in the fall of 2021 and are working towards the doctoral degree.

  • NEW MPA DIRECTOR: KRISTINA ZVINAKIS

    On September 1, 2021, the Master in Professional Accounting program welcomed its new Program Director, Senior Lecturer and Assistant Department Chair Kristina Zvinakis. She has been at McCombs for 15 years and is also the Department's Assistant Chair and teaches Tax Research and Corporate Tax. The Department would like to give a huge thank you to Steve Smith for his leadership of the MPA program.

  • AICPA RECOGNIZES 2020 ELIJAH WATT SELLS AWARD WINNERS

    The AICPA recently named the 89 recipients of the 2020 Elijah Watt Sells Award, and Texas McCombs is proud to announce that the MPA program has three winners: Brenton Novit (now employed at Deloitte in Austin, TX), Diana Luong (now employed at EY in Houston, TX), and Sarabeth Sandweiss (now employed at EY in Houston, TX). Congratulations to Brenton, Diana, and Sarabeth. What an accomplishment!

  • WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST FACULTY MEMBER, UROOJ KHAN!

    The Department of Accounting would like to welcome our newest faculty member, Urooj Kahn! He joined the Department in spring 2021 and is teaching Financial Statement Analysis. Urooj's research interests include capital markets and disclosure with a special interest in financial institutions, and he received his PhD and MBA from University of Washington.

  • LILLIAN MILLS NAMED DEAN OF THE McCOMBS SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

    Lillian Mills has been named the next permanent dean of the McCombs School of Business. She has served in this role as interim dean since April 2020, and after a competitive national search, Dean Mills’ experience and commitment to our communities set her apart. Dean Mills is the first woman permanent dean at the McCombs School of Business. Congratulations, Lil!
