MPA Bridge Tuition and Financial Aid

MPA Bridge allows you to pay for some of your graduate accounting courses at undergraduate tuition rates. Take advantage of MPA scholarship and teaching assistant opportunities, too!

MPA Funding and Financial Benefits

There are multiple ways to further reduce the cost of your master's degree in accounting at Texas McCombs.

SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Department of Accounting Scholarships are funded through financial contributions made by alumni, business partners, and friends of the department. These scholarships are directed towards MPA Bridge students in their graduate year to help defray some of the graduate tuition costs. The MPA Program Office sends the scholarship application to students in the spring before they enter graduate school. Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $5,000.
  • Fifth Year Accounting Scholarships are administered by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. Applications are distributed by the MPA Program Office, but the office does not make the decision regarding who receives these scholarships.
  • Other Accounting Scholarships: Several organizations offer scholarships to encourage the pursuit of an accounting education. For example, the AICPA provides a listing of several scholarship opportunities.

  • Teaching Assistants

MPA Bridge students are eligible to serve as teaching assistants during their graduate year. TAs are assigned to accounting courses to assist professors with course instruction, grading homework, proctoring exams, holding office hours, and leading review sessions. Appointments are usually 10 hours per week. Additionally, there are non-academic employment opportunities at UT and in the community.
