Denver Art Museum Special Exhibit Docent Tour
Join the Denver Chapter on a special exhibition tour at the Denver Art Museum with an optional on-site dinner reservation afterward at The Ponti.
Led by a specially trained docent, this 60-minute tour focuses on one of the museum’s special exhibitions - Her Brush: Japanese Women Artists from the Fong-Johnstone Collection. Discover breathtaking works by Japanese women artists in the 1600s to early 1900s and hear their tales of strength and perseverance as they navigated the strict gender roles and social regulations of the time to pursue their artistic passion. From nuns to entertainers to noblewomen (and some who were even all three!) Her Brush explores the universal human drive of artistic expression as self-realization. Highlights include works by the renowned artist-nun Ōtagaki Rengetsu and literati artist Ike Gyokuron.
The Ponti is an immersive dining environment serving a locally sourced, seasonal menu created in collaboration with James Beard Award winner and celebrated Denver chef Jennifer Jasinski. Dinner is optional and not included in the admission price.
Space is limited and reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Time: 5-8 p.m. (MT)

Second Friday Breakfast Presents Joanna Wolaver, Executive Director of Travis County Parks Foundation
Please join your fellow alumni and friends as we welcome Joanna Wolaver, Executive Director of the Travis County Parks Foundation.
She also currently serves as the board chair of the Austin Outside coalition. With over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Joanna has held a variety of positions at nonprofit organizations, including serving as the founding executive director of Shoal Creek Conservancy. She has also managed three successful open space and transportation bond campaigns in Texas and New Jersey.

Joanna will talk about the Foundation and their 2023 priorities, and then expand out to talk about partnering with Austin Outside and the work of Austin Outside. It takes collaborations and partnerships to make it all happen!
