The Wealth Management Center of the McCombs School of Business and the University of Texas are hosting an evening with Arthur Laffer, the Father of Supply-Side Economics. We would like to invite you to join Ramesh Rao, the Eugene and Margaret McDermott Professor of Finance as we welcome Dr. Arthur Laffer to McCombs.

Dr. Laffer was invited by Daniel Caswell, BBA '84, to present at McCombs. Dr. Laffer is an economist and author who first gained prominence during the Reagan administration as a member of the Economic Policy Advisory Board from 1981 to 1989. He is best known for the Laffer curve, an illustration of the concept that there exists some tax rate between 0% and 100% that will result in maximum tax revenue for the government. In certain circumstances, this would allow governments to cut taxes, and simultaneously increase revenue and economic growth.

“The Laffer Curve illustrates the basic idea that changes in tax rates have two effects on tax revenues: the arithmetic effect and the economic effect.” – Arthur B. Laffer

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from the inventor of supply-side economics and the architect of fiscal policy in dozens of states across the country. Please join us and Dr. Laffer for an exclusive and intimate gathering. Dr. Laffer will have an open discussion on the state of the economy and share some of his White House experiences.
