Internships and Recruitment Resources
Though an internship in real estate is not a program requirement, you are highly encouraged to seek one, as it is great way to explore your interests and potential career paths. Many real estate employers hiring for full-time positions are looking for candidates with some previous real estate experience. Increase your marketability, industry knowledge and chances to land the interviews (and job) you are after.
It's up to each individual to find internships and jobs in real estate. However, students accepted to the the Texas URE program and members of the Undergraduate Real Estate Society are given access to REFIC's jobs blog containing opportunities exclusively for students interested in pursuing a career in the commercial real estate field.
Participation in events organized by Texas URE, the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center (REFIC) and URES is highly encouraged. These events offer exposure to industry conversation and opportunities to interact with industry employers. Networking and industry experience is extremely important in the real estate business. Start early and participate in events as often as you can. These opportunities are exclusive to students, so take advantage!
