Message from the Dean

What a fascinating and challenging time to lead the Texas McCombs community in this era of disruptive social and technological opportunity. I feel privileged to associate with students, faculty and staff members, and business leaders who inspire us with their curiosity, grit, and optimism. Together, we will expand opportunities and assure maximum inclusion and connection among all our McCombs students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends. Today during a pandemic, our agility enables us to meet the uncertainty of conducting education and research with complete dedication.

We understand that the business models and leadership demands before us are rapidly evolving. As an academic community, we are constantly studying, learning, and discovering with forward anticipation. I’m pleased with the positive energy and preparedness I see in our graduates as we send them off to meet the economic, environmental, social, and technological challenges ahead, while following whatever path they choose.

That readiness is honed through rigorous and imaginative coursework, world-renowned faculty members who inspire in the classroom while also producing some of the most influential business research in the country, and unmatched experiential learning opportunities in Austin, Texas, one of the country’s premiere hubs for innovation and culture.

What is the reward for our work? Witnessing the positive impact of more than 100,000 living alumni who are changing our future for the better.

I invite you to join us in this shared journey of discovery and opportunity.
