The Texas Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at the McCombs School of Business is one of the top undergraduate programs in the country. As a Texas BBA, you will gain a well-rounded education that offers intellectual challenge, real-world experiences, professional development and a network of friends and colleagues that you will have for a lifetime.
Your freshman year will be a great time to discover what you would like to major in, if you don’t already know. One of your required classes, BA 101, starts preparing you for your future career and will also help you figure out what you are interested in doing to help you decide on your path over the next three years. You may also decide to join a student organization to meet new people with similar interests. If you are not from Austin, you’ll be able to discover some of the great things about the city, food, music, outdoors and great places to study!
Once you have declared your major, you will find many opportunities to get real-world experience in accounting, finance, consulting and leadership, among many others. You may even decide to study abroad, something more and more students are doing.
The knowledge and experiences you will gain as a Texas BBA will help you to succeed at your first job out of college, and you will be able to find that great job with help from the Career Services office. The Career Services office not only helps you find the jobs that are out there, they also will help you prepare for interviews, business dinners, networking and many other skills that will help you land the job that you want.
And once you graduate, you will become a lifelong member of the McCombs Alumni Network. This network provides you connections to those that have graduated before you, and those that will graduate after you, and is a great way to meet people if you move to a city, chat with peers in similar industries and stay connected to what is happening at McCombs.
