MBA Real Estate Concentration
The MBA Real Estate Concentration at the McCombs School of Business combines rigorous coursework, hands-on investment experience, and direct industry engagement to prepare students for careers across the real estate industry.
Students are enrolled in the Full-Time MBA program at Texas McCombs and build a specialization in real estate through electives, experiential learning, and involvement with the Real Estate Center.
Cross Disciplinary and Practical
The concentration offers a mix of finance, investment, development, and law courses, alongside applied learning through the two-semester John C. Goff Real Estate Investment Fund and a project-based practicum with industry partners.
Students can also take electives across UT Austin, including offerings in the School of Architecture, School of Law, and other disciplines, gaining cross-disciplinary insight into the built environment.
Outside the classroom, students engage in a wide range of programming that supports both community building and industry exposure.
Building Credibility Through Experience
The John C. Goff Real Estate Investment Fund is a cornerstone of the MBA experience, providing hands-on investment experience across both public REIT and private equity real estate strategies.
Texas McCombs is the only business school in the country where both undergraduate and MBA students manage public and private real estate investments together as part of a unified, for-credit course.
Graduate Real Estate Society (GRES)
The Graduate Real Estate Society (GRES) is a student-led organization focused on building community within the MBA real estate cohort.
The group organizes peer-to-peer programming, including small-group discussions, mentorship, and social events, helping students build relationships and engage with the industry early in their MBA experience.
Student leaders work closely with the Real Estate Center to ensure alignment with broader programming and industry engagement.
