Student Testimonials

Lance Henderson, Senior Biochemistry Summer Institute 2019

"When learning a language, most schools offer immersive programs, such as six credit hour classes, to help integrate the language. The McComb's Summer Institute is the only program that applies that logic to the language of business. Thanks to this program, I was able to discover just how intertwined all of business is, speak its language, and make 104 great friends while taking classes that prepared me for life."

Matthew Kenny,  Sophomore Public Health Summer Institute 2019

"My experience in the McCombs Summer Institute was one of the most transformative experiences of my college career. Through the 9-week intensive program, I was able to develop professionally as I learned the core necessities to how business functions in the modern world. Some of the greatest growth came not only from the traditional classroom but the experiential professional development courses where we got to practice real world situations we will see in our working lives. The McCombs Summer Institute also allowed me to accomplish my business minor by the beginning of my sophomore year, allowing me to focus on my premedical studies for the rest of the time I’m an undergraduate at UT. I am so grateful for all that I was able to learn this summer, and I know that everything that I learned there will be useful not only in my future endeavors, but my personal endeavors as well!"

Morgan Laing, Senior Biomedical Engineering Summer Institute 2019

"McCombs Summer Institute was a great introduction into the world of business, and taught me valuable skills I can apply to whatever career path I end up taking. Learning the basics of Finance and Accounting helped me understand how the money side of business interactions work, and Marketing and Management helped me understand the communication side of business and how that functions as well. Also, the teamwork skills I learned as part of the business simulation have helped me in interviews, and team projects in general."
