The BBA Women’s Council (BBAWC) provides a forum for undergraduate businesswomen to learn about, and discuss current issues and opportunities in business. BBAWC participants learn how to prepare for success after graduation, how to network with prominent women in business, and about the challenges women may face in the workforce. The McCombs Diversity Council (MDC) is designed to educate students about diversity and diversity-related issues in the workplace. Target Your Future (TYF)

TYF is a small group seminar series over six weeks designed for first generation college students and underrepresented minority business students. TYF students gain experience and confidence through in-depth education on career-related topics. TYF provides a platform for students to gain more perspective on industries and employers. BBA Etiquette Dinner

BBA Corporate Mock Interviews are a great way to build your company’s reputation and presence on campus. Representatives from your company will interview eight students for mock positions and give the BBA students valuable feedback. Save the Date: February 4, 2020. Please contact Jessica Koehler with interest to participate.

BBA Etiquette Dinners (held each fall and spring) include a networking session and instruction in the do's and don'ts of business dining etiquette. The following policies have been created to help employers maximize awareness. Please note an employer must have posted an opportunity in RecruitMcCombs within the year to schedule promotion. Please email Katherine Burns regarding more information on how to utilize Texas BBA Career Services' social media resources and to schedule promotion. Please send all promotional materials 3-4 weeks before your event/program.

We will not promote:

  • Jobs and internships
  • Events and programs that compete with BBA Career Services events or industry competitors
  • Information Sessions that do not have a correlated job/internship posting in RecruitMcCombs. 
  • Events serving alcohol
  • Tailgate events

The McCombs Career Expo (held fall and spring) provides opportunities for employers to recruit full-time and internship candidates at the McCombs School of Business.The expo is the largest McCombs School of Business career fair. It is hosted by the McCombs Career Expo Board and BBA Career Services.

Please note: Due to space constraints, registrations are not confirmed on a first-come, first serve basis. We do not allow commission only positions due to our posting policies.

We consider the below factors when approving registrations:

  • Diverse mix of industries and job functions represented
  • Companies that reflect student interest
  • Hiring history and recruiting engagement at McCombs

Registration fee includes an 6’ x 10’ booth and table, 8 ft. skirted table, two chairs, company sign, lunch and snacks for up to 4 representatives per booth.

Posting Requirement

Posting in the RecruitMcCombs

We require that all McCombs Career Expo attendees post positions in RecruitMcCombs in preparation to attend the event. We also recommend including information about your available positions in the career expo registration, which will be used to populate the career expo student brochure.

Resume Submission Deadline Recommendations

We recommend that your resume submission deadline(s) fall on or after the Monday following the McCombs Career Expo. This will allow students time to apply to your position(s) after meeting your company at the event. If your schedule does not allow time for this recommended deadline, we advise to extend your deadline to midnight on the evening of the career expo.

Please reach out to your Recruitment Account Manager to discuss potential changes to your resume submission deadlines.

The BBA Women’s Council Leadership Symposium is a morning of professional development and networking where successful businesswomen can share knowledge and insight on key topics impacting women in business today with McCombs undergraduate businesswomen. BBA women from all classifications and majors will be attending.

Student Organizations

There are over thirty McCombs BBA student organizations and many focus on particular industries or career interests. Employers are welcome to partner with the McCombs Affiliated Student Organizations for organization events and meetings. To connect with student organizations or for recommendations, please contact  Lindsey Watson.

To find an undergraduate student organization not listed as a McCombs Affiliated Undergraduate Student Organization, please search The University of Texas at Austin Student Organization Database.

Student Organization Engagement Policy: 
We require that employers connect with student organizations through educational workshops (insider info about your industry, a day in the life, career prep advice, etc.) and not recruiting events (employers may not do an info session type of event just open to a specific organization).
