Two students working together Before diving into your fall courses, you’ll spend a week in Austin at your first Executive Seminar. During this required residency, you’ll meet your new classmates, shake hands with professors and the dean, and tour the campus. You’ll be teamed with your cohorts and get introduced to the research behind high-performing teams before participating in your first executive challenge. 

Your first Executive Seminar will provide a clear framework for the upcoming intensive study of financial accounting, statistics and decision analysis, and leading people and organizations.

A smiling student Your first semester in the Texas Executive MBA Program will introduce you to the first set of courses that will, semester-by-semester, transform you from savvy business professional to sought-after business executive.

Courses include: Financial Accounting; Leading People & Organizations; Managerial Statistics

A student concentratesBy now, you know the ropes. You’re comfortable with the schedule and pace. You’re managing your MBA journey perfectly. Which is why it’s the perfect time to dig into advanced management studies. Courses include: Managerial Economics, Strategic Management, and Financial Management. 

The spring semester concludes with your second Executive Seminar. This three-day seminar aims to turn your first year of learning into practical work. You’ll examine specific business problems and solutions, while learning about modern, relevant topics such as: 

Building Advocacy Skills; Corporate Responsibility; and Organizations & the Media.

Summer Options

Summer Options

A student with folded fingers concentrates The summer offers plenty of options to continue your first year’s momentum. You can take three Executive MBA-only electives—Advocacy, New Venture Creation, and Advanced Investment Theory—or any elective offered at UT Austin.

You can spend an intensive three days studying public policy at our Washington Campus. Or you grab your passport and take a Global Study Tour with Texas Full-Time MBAs to see the world economy up close. Or you can simply take the summer off and re-energize for the fall.

A student concentrates on a lectureYou’ll kick off the fall semester by participating in your third Executive Seminar. This week-long seminar touches on a diverse array of topics, including marketing, financial statement analysis, managerial accounting, and operations management. And it all concludes with an executive team-building activity.

Then the fall semester begins in earnest. Your studies grow even more advanced as you layer more knowledge and research on your already robust business expertise.

Courses include: Marketing Management, Operations Management, and Managerial Accounting & Financial Statement Analysis.

A student concentratesYour final semester is a seminar in Beijing, China, where you will experience firsthand what makes China the largest, fastest-growing economy in the world. You’ll sit in on business lectures at Peking University and spend your free time exploring this international capital of commerce. (Your family is welcome to travel with you!)

You’ll wrap up your Texas MBA degree fully immersed in the culture of Beijing—enjoying its food, exploring its ancient history, and participating in its rich traditions.
