The MS Information Technology and Management Advisory Council is comprised of industry leaders with the purpose of advising the MSITM leadership and staff on the development of the program. Council members serve as liaisons and advocates of the MSITM Program, offer advice and guidance to the curriculum committee, and assist in student recruitment and student mentorship to strengthen the overall student experience. Members have the opportunity to participate in MSITM practicum projects, networking events, and student treks.

Romil Bahl serves as CEO of KORE, which is a pioneer in the Internet of Things (IoT) space, delivering transformative business performance for its customers, while simplifying the complexities of IoT and M2M (Machine-to-Machine). KORE was founded over 15 years ago with a focus on M2M connectivity and has grown to become the largest independent IoT wireless connectivity enabler, with a subscriber base only exceeded by five of the very largest carriers (MNOs). Having joined the company in the fourth quarter of 2017, Romil is taking the company on a growth path that includes enhancing and expanding the company’s trusted advisory position to span more of the IoT Solution stack, including edge device lifecycle management and professional services.
Romil brings over 25 years of executive leadership experience across the information technology, tech-enabled services and IoT/Connected Car areas and has expertise in both high-growth and turnaround environments. Throughout his career, Romil has been instrumental in enabling breakthrough growth. He has risen to complex challenges where he has crafted growth strategies, tapped new emerging markets and energized global teams. His leadership approach reflects a hands-on style and leading from the front in developing strong client relationships and creating teams that are driven to innovate and excel.
Prior to KORE, Romil served as President and CEO of Lochbridge, a leading technology and solutions provider in the IoT and connected car space. Lochbridge was sold to a strategic buyer in May 2017. Before that, he was EVP and GM of Global Industries for CSC (now DXC), leading the industry go-to-market dimension across the entire ~$9 billion commercial business unit, creating global growth strategies and expanding CSC’s global footprint into offerings such as cloud, cybersecurity and big data. Earlier, Romil was CEO of a data analytics-focused public company, PRGX Global, and also held leadership roles at A.T. Kearney, Infosys and Deloitte Consulting.
Romil earned an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Directorate of Marine Engineering & Technology in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

As Chief Technology Officer at RealMassive, Jason Vertrees, Ph.D, leads the company’s team of scientists and engineers to ensure that RealMassive’s commercial real estate customers are receiving best-of-breed technology solutions customized to their specific business needs. Prior to joining RealMassive, Dr. Vertrees was Director of Core Modeling Products at Schrodinger. He is focused on leveraging his expertise in product strategy and user experience (UX) to best serve each of RealMassive’s customers.
Dr. Vertrees graduated from the University of Texas with two Bachelor of Arts: one in Computer Science and one in Japanese. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Biophysics from the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Vertrees spent a year as a postdoctoral researcher, shared between Dartmouth College and Boston University, researching machine learning applications for the prediction of protein function annotation.
