Who We Are
The Harkey Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies is the corner of Main and Main for undergraduate entrepreneurs at the University of Texas. This is where your story begins. We support inter-disciplinary education and extra-curricular experiences building students’ belief in their capacity to attain their goals and accelerate student business development.
Galvanizing Gift
The Harkey Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies honored John D. Harkey Jr. ’83, his wife Peni Barfield, and other donors at a dedication ceremony April 19. To date, $13.5 million in a $20 million campaign has been raised to support entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship Minor
The Entrepreneurship Minor is the curricular focus of the Harkey Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies. Students from across the Forty Acres develop their entrepreneurial skills in a diverse, interdisciplinary academic environment.

Summer Entrepreneurship Academy
The Blair and Bubba Moffett Family Summer Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA) is an intensive, in-person, 8-week summer program.

Summer Fellowship
The McCombs Entrepreneur Summer Fellowship (MESF), funded by the generous support of alumni donors and the Harkey Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, enables innovative students to continue building their startups during the summer.

Living Learning Community
The Entrepreneurship LLC is a first of its kind living learning community that will admit incoming students directly into the Entrepreneurship Minor.
