Richard “Rick” Nauert, Ph.D., MHA, MSHFM, PT brings more than four decades of experience across clinical care, healthcare operations, administration/management, consulting, and higher education. A Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Texas at Austin, he teaches healthcare systems, health policy, health information technology, and population health while conducting research on telehealth, disease management, and healthcare innovation. His professional journey spans roles from practicing physical therapy to management of multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs in a variety of settings. As a healthcare executive and operational consultant, he offers a comprehensive perspective on the organizational, clinical, and policy forces shaping modern healthcare. Drawing on experience across provider organizations, health systems, and academic institutions, Dr. Nauert helps organizations and students navigate the complex relationship between technology, care delivery, and system performance.
