Daniel Fannin

Daniel Fannin is a financial investigator with Sage Investigations and an accounting lecturer for The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business. Fannin is a certified public accountant, a certified fraud examiner, a certified anti-money-laundering specialist, and a state-licensed private investigator. He has extensive experience analyzing financial records, interviewing witnesses, and testifying before grand juries and in courts.

Fannin worked for more than 26 years as a special agent for the IRS and has collaborated with the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Secret Service, and the Department of Homeland Security. His cases involved income tax evasion, money laundering, illegal gaming, human trafficking, narcotics trafficking, and the many types of fraud: payroll tax, investment, bank, mail, bankruptcy, and CARES Act. Those investigations embraced several industries, including banking, commercial services, oil and gas, construction, trucking, real estate, and telemarketing.

Fannin is also the president of Best Glide Aviation Survival Equipment Inc. and worked in accounting with the Continental Baking Company before joining the IRS. He earned an MBA from Texas McCombs and a BBA in accounting from Midwestern State University.
