Hector Gomez Macfarland is a lecturer in marketing at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He brings a wealth of expertise in marketing, innovation, and international business strategy to UT.

Recognized as one of 15 high-impact Latino technology entrepreneurs in the U.S. by President Barack Obama, Gomez Macfarland is the owner and chief operating officer of OHEL Technologies, an industrial Internet of Things and artificial intelligence solutions provider. OHEL serves the military, aerospace, semiconductor, and construction industries worldwide. He is also a co-owner of Biztram and biztramsimulations.com, an online education platform offering training and business consulting. 

Gomez Macfarland is also a professor at Huston-Tillotson University as well as Pforzheim University in Germany and Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico, and he has taught at St. Edward's University. At Huston-Tillotson, he also served as director for the Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

He earned a Ph.D. in marketing and a master's in management from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. He also holds an MBA and an electronic and telecom engineering degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
