She teaches financial accounting, covering transaction analysis and financial statement preparation and analysis, to provide students with a strong foundation in crucial concepts in the field.

Edwards is also senior vice president of business development at Embark, a company that tackles complex finance-related issues. She has an extensive background in corporate accounting, beginning as a financial auditor at Deloitte and later holding various operational and leadership accounting positions in diverse sectors, including manufacturing, insurance, and health care. Edwards' experience has shaped her approach to accounting and her belief that accountants must strive to understand their clients’ goals and organizational culture to foster their success.

Recognizing the need for more women to participate in golf for its networking opportunities, Edwards founded GALf, an organization that pairs golf lessons for women with access to professional connections.

Edwards earned a BBA with honors and a Master of Professional Accounting degree, both from Texas McCombs.
