    The MPA Career Fair and Networking Reception gives you the chance to network with traditional and fifth-year MPA students about internships and full-time positions. It is held in August and registration opens in June.

    MPA Mock Interview Marathon

    Enhance your company presence on campus while helping MPA students fine-tune their interviewing skills by participating in one of our most popular events: The Mock Interview Marathon (held once each fall and spring semester).

    MPA Mock Interview Marathon Spring 2015 is already accepting registrations, register today. Registration deadline is Wednesday, November 26, 2014.

    MPA Etiquette Dinner

    Since business meetings, trainings, and networking events often involve eating, dining etiquette is an essential career skill. At the MPA Etiquette Dinner, students will learn how to navigate business and recruiting dining occasions with class. As a participating organization, you will interact with MPA students throughout the meal and educate them about available career opportunities. A networking dessert reception at the end provides a chance to connect with additional students.

    Meet the Firms: A Networking Event

    MPA Meet the Firms offers the perfect venue for kicking off the spring recruiting season. Employers of all varieties are invited to connect with MPA students in the state-of-the-art facilities at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

    Approximately 200 students are expected to attend. While the primary student audience for this event will be third-year MPA students who are seeking internships, all MPA students are invited. The intimate setting and targeted student population will allow participants to have meaningful interactions. The speed networking format allows participants to have meaningful interactions with a targeted population. The preferred attire is business professional.

MPA Career Fair and Networking Reception

    About & Key Dates

    MPA Career Fair  

    When: Friday, August 22, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
    Where: Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, UT-Austin

    Held just before the fall semester begins, the MPA Career Fair provides an opportunity for you to be among the first to recruit Texas MPA students. With limited employer slots and expected attendance of 120 students, this tailored event allows participants to have targeted and meaningful interactions. The majority of attending students will graduate in 2015. While some are seeking internships, most are interested in full-time positions. 

    Registered organizations are invited to bring company giveaway items, signage and literature to this event. Each organization will be assigned an eight-foot table with cloth and two chairs. Prior to the fair, MPA Career Services will host a brunch meeting to provide information on the incoming class, the latest employment statistics and a student panel on best practices in recruiting. Registrants will be the first to access the Fall 2014 MPA Resume Book. The publication will be emailed to the primary contact at each registered organization prior to the MPA Career Fair.

    MPA Networking Reception

    When: Thursday, August 21, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    Where:
    AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center, UT-Austin

    When you register for the MPA Career Fair, you also have the opportunity to register for the reception.  The event offers a chance to connect with students prior to the fair in a format that offers both structured speed networking and open networking. Light refreshments will be served. To keep the focus of the reception on person-to-person interaction, please reserve company giveaway items, signage and literature for the MPA Career Fair the following day.

    Important Deadlines:

    • August 1: Registration and payment deadline
    • August 12: First day for shipping Career Fair Materials to event.
    • August 21-22: MPA Networking Reception and Career Fair

    Register for the 2014 MPA Career Fair and Networking Reception. Please contact Michelle Polkinghorn with any questions.

    MPA Career Fair

    Registration for the MPA Career Fair includes a table for the career fair, breakfast and validated parking for all employer representatives, wi-fi access, and delivery of employer materials from the stadium loading area to table.
    • Registration: $800

    MPA Networking Reception

    Registration for the Networking Reception includes a designated speed networking table, a designated open networking table, refreshments, and validated parking for all employer representatives. Registration for MPA Career Fair is required.
    • Registration: $120 per person

    Career Fair

    The MPA Career Fair will be held at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on the main campus of The University of Texas at Austin. It is located on 23rd St. between San Jacinto Blvd. and Robert Dedman Dr. Enter the stadium through Gate 16 and proceed to the 8th Floor.

    Parking
    All-day parking is available in the San Jacinto Garage during the event. The garage is located at 2401 San Jacinto Boulevard.  Please pull a ticket upon entering the garage and present it at event check-in for validation.

    Loading Zone
    If you would like to drop-off your materials before parking, there will be a designated drop off area at the loading dock entrance at the corner of 23rd Street and San Jacinto. Student volunteers will be waiting there to carry your items to your table while you park your car in the San Jacinto Garage.


    MPA Networking Reception

    The MPA Networking Reception will be held in the Carpenter-Winkel Centennial Room on the west side of the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Enter the stadium through Gate 5 or 6 and take the elevator to the 9th floor.

    Shipping Career Fair Materials

    Items for the event may be shipped to the address below beginning August 12, 2014. Please ensure that the name of the event, shipping company’s name, address and sender’s information is clearly indicated on the outside of the boxes.

    If needed, the stadium staff will help ship items back to your office after the event using FedEx. To take advantage of this service, please follow these guidelines:

    • After the event, package and seal the items for shipping.
    • Use only pre-printed, pre-paid labels to return items. If you need to print a label, a laptop and printer will be available. You will need to know your FedEx login and password, your account number, and your ship-to address. Items with hand-written labels will not be accepted for return shipment.

    Note: If you plan to return your packages via UPS, you will need to arrange for a pre-paid pickup using the address above and notify Karen Machacek regarding the details of the pickup, including the confirmation number.
