iMPA Application
Admission to the integrated MPA program is for the fall semester only.
The fall 2027 application will open on April 1, 2027.
Only students under the 2024-2026 (or earlier) catalog are eligible to apply to iMPA for fall 2027.
Students under the 2026-2028 catalog will apply at the end of their junior year after completing upper-level accounting courses. As a result, most students in the 2026-28 catalog will apply to iMPA in the spring of the 3rd year (rather than the spring of their 2nd year). iMPA Pre-Enrollment Requirements
- Meet the iMPA acceptance criteria and take all of the prerequisite classes.
- Pre-register in the spring for a full load of fall semester classes. You will add iMPA-specific accounting classes during a regular add/drop period in the summer if you are admitted to the program.
MPA English Language Requirements
All international applicants must possess strong English skills to be considered for the iMPA program. Official scores for either the Internet-based TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test must be on your UT record prior to the application deadline unless you were allowed to waive the English Test for admission to UT Austin.
Our preferred minimum scores:
TOEFL: 5 overall and section scores (6-point scale) or 105 overall and 24 section scores (120 scale; tests taken before January 21, 2026)
IELTS: 7.0-7.5 overall and section band scores
Duolingo English Test: 135 overall, 140 speaking and writing, and 130 reading and listening
If your previously-submitted test scores do not accurately reflect your current English proficiency, we strongly recommend that you retake the test and increase your scores.

Read the instructions in the iMPA admissions packet carefully before starting your application. Complete and submit your Fall 2027 application by June 1, 2027 to be considered in the first round of admissions decisions and by July 30, 2027 for the second round of decisions.
