SCMC/CCIMS present A Joint Research Center Sustainability
Symposium
Co-hosted by the Supply Chain Management Center of Excellence
(SCMC) and the Center for Customer Insight and Marketing
Solutions (CCIMS) with support from the Advanced Manufacturing
Center, this symposium titled “Achieving Customer
Impact by Balancing Environmental Intelligence, Supply Chain
Optimization and Product Design” will provide an opportunity for
Supply Chain and Marketing executives to look at best practices,
issues and opportunities for holistic product design.
Participation is limited to SCMC and CCIMS sponsors, McCombs
School of Business faculty and students, and AMC sponsors and
affiliated faculty by invitation. There is no fee to
attend, but registration is required by April 23, 2008. For more

A Joint Research Center “Sponsors Only” Session with Dr. Bob
Johansen
The Supply Chain Management Center of Excellence (SCMC) and the
Center for Customer Insight and Marketing Solutions (CCIMS) will
co-host Dr. Bob Johansen, Distinguished Fellow at the Institute
for the Future (IFTF). This session titled “Sensing the Future
to Compete in the Present” will focus on IFTF’s latest Ten-Year
Forecast of global future forces and the Foresight to Insight to
Action approach. Participation is limited to sponsors of SCMC
and CCIMS, McCombs School of Business faculty and students.
There is no fee to attend, but an RSVP is required by March 6,

Challenge
Sponsors: Technology McCombs & Excellence in Operations
This case competition requires teams of first-year MBA students
from the McCombs School of Business to analyze a business issue
overnight and present a strategic solution to a panel of corporate
judges the next day. The case will combine knowledge of Information
Management and Operations as tools to achieve operational excellence

indicated that this event was very well received by the students.
It served to promote awareness and generate interest in supply chain
management.
