Texas Biodesign Workshop
Presented by the Texas Innovation Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship, Texas Biodesign brings together scientists, engineers, clinicians, and business leaders to apply needs-driven innovation inspired by biological processes. Participants learn to identify, evaluate, and develop impactful solutions to medical and business challenges.

About the Workshop

This hands-on program introduces the Stanford Biodesign methodology, a framework originally developed for medical technologies and now applied across industries—from software to consumer products.

Participants will:

  • Assess multiple needs
  • Select a lead concept
  • Present a value proposition for potential advancement

 

EnergizeUT
The Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship partnership with the Energy Institute has created valuable opportunities for students pursuing innovation in the energy technology sector and seeking to bring their ideas and products to market. In addition to the Energy Ventures Practicum course, which has been offered since 2023, the two institutes jointly host the annual EnergizeUT event. Recognized as The University of Texas at Austin’s premier energy innovation showcase, EnergizeUT brings together students, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs to explore the future of energy. Registration information for the Fall 2026 event is currently being determined.
Discovery to Impact
In a joint effort to empower innovative and technically savvy students with applicable business knowledge, Discovery to Impact and Brumley Institute are delivering co-curricular workshop sessions such as Business for STEM and Intro to Commercialization.
