Dell Supply Chain

Project Topic: Dell Offer Intelligence Platform (OIP)

The project focuses on enhancing customer experience and improving sales performance by leveraging AI-driven methodoligies to proactively position resilient, low-risk, product configurations in sales and customer experience tools at Dell. This project will deliver the capability to leverage account-specific insights, commerce context, product operations, P&L strategies, and supply chain insights to define resiliency while positioning ‘winning’ configurations that result in conversion for Dell.

This new capability will contribute to the modernization of customer transitions, renewals, and acquisitions by integrating key data elements, including lead times, material risk assessments, pricing structures, and competitive intelligence. This capability empowers sales teams with optimized configurations, enabling the reduction of excess and obsolescence (E&O), the protection of margins, and the improvement of conversion rates – ultimately accelerating deal velocity and maximizing profit and loss (P&L) impact across the portfolio.

Key stakeholders for this project are operations and sales executives and decision makers such as product line managers, supply chain managers, and sales transformation managers.

The role will develop skills in dealing with ambiguity, analysis of large data sets/draw correlations, Power BI, machine learning, statistical prowess, and develop deep unserstanding of supply chain, product operations, and commercial go-to-market strategies.

Two candidates will be selected to work on this project together and will be assigned a former Dell executive as a coach to advise on project direction, along with support from current Dell employees.

Deliverables

  • Identify and quantify immediate areas of improvement in existing processes and tools:
    • Define go-to-market resiliency of these configurations
    • Proactively position winning configurations
  • Develop an AI product strategy to execute prioritized improvement opportunities
  • Formulate and execute product designs and release plan to sustain improvements in value drivers
  • Develop an AI solution with data science technologists with steps followed to enable all design elements
  • Develop a holistic understanding of the organization through meetings in different cross-functional departments
  • Present findings to stakeholders after each semester and at the end of the summer internship
