About Texas Venture Labs
Startup University's Big Bang
Moot Corp, the original business plan competition founded by Texas MBA students, burst forth in 1984. Since then, UT Austin has remained at the center of the college entrepreneurship universe.
Leadership
The UT System is one of the most inventive university systems in the country, ranked Top Five for US patents every year. With discovery and creation at our core, UT faculty and students are natural innovators in the sciences, technologies, engineering, and financial sectors. By mixing research prowess with entrepreneurial drive, these influencers keep the UT startup engine purring.
Sponsors
Success breeds success. JBTVL is supported by top entrepreneurial superstars and some of the most respected corporate innovators in the world. They pay it forward by growing UT’s startup environment while building their own power network of young founders and pioneers.
Our History
Years of success running what Business Week called the “Super Bowl of World Business-Plan Competitions” made Texas McCombs the ideal environment for the launch of Texas Venture Labs in 2010. This university-driven accelerator program launches successful venture-backed companies while preparing graduates for roles as founders and innovators.
