Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows
The Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows at Texas McCombs is a selective, experiential learning program that prepares MBA students for impactful nonprofit board service. Fellows serve as non‑voting board members for nonprofit organizations, where they contribute business insight while gaining firsthand exposure to nonprofit governance, fiduciary responsibility, and strategic decision‑making.
Throughout the academic year, Fellows collaborate closely with nonprofit leaders to develop and present a tailored strategic project addressing a key organizational challenge. The program combines hands‑on board experience with leadership development, mentorship, and connection to a growing local and national network of purpose‑driven leaders—strengthening both student learning and nonprofit impact across the community.
The Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Network gives alumni ongoing opportunities to connect with Fellows from schools across the network, access high-quality trainings, and be matched with nonprofits in their local area for volunteer and board service engagements.

Alumni Engagement
Golub Capital launched The Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Alumni Network in partnership with Compass Pro Bono to create lifelong opportunities for Nonprofit Board Fellows to connect with Fellows from schools across the network while also giving them access to training opportunities, mentoring, and personalized guidance when seeking volunteer, board, or professional roles in the nonprofit sector. Texas McCombs will offer its alumni new ways to engage with current Fellows, as well.

The Nonprofit Board Fellows at Texas McCombs program brings in top local nonprofit leaders to discuss topics ranging from nonprofit board governance to navigating challenging headwinds. These speakers provide real-world insight and practical advice on how to be an effective board member and how to drive impact in their local community.
Projects & Service
Nonprofit Board Fellows work with their nonprofit partner to identify and scope a strategic project they can complete as part of their year of board service. These projects provide real world experience coming up with tangible solutions for each organization. Past projects have covered topics including expansion planning, financial modeling, board development, and marketing assessment.

The Nonprofit Board Fellows at Texas McCombs program is making an impact in the lives of the students and partner organizations that join its ranks each year. Our growing alumni base will forever be part of the national Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Network and be able to access alumni resources provided through a partnership with Compass Pro Bono. Through this network, alumni have the opportunity to sharpen their nonprofit leadership toolkit, connect with and learn from others with shared values, and find opportunities to serve on nonprofit boards throughout their career in cities across America.

Becoming a Nonprofit Partner Organization gives your organization the opportunity to engage with Hildebrand MBA students in a unique way, letting them participate on your Board as non-voting members while also getting their pro bono strategic work on a year-long project your Board defines. Unlike a typical consulting engagement, a partnership with Nonprofit Board Fellows at Texas McCombs means establishing a long-term connection with MBA talent and the larger Golub Capital Nonprofit Board Fellows Network.
