Investment Banking Accelerator
Interview, Accounting, and Finance Prep for Undergraduate Students

This intensive, weeklong crash course is designed to equip undergraduate students with a strong foundation in investment banking. It’s tailored for students preparing for early recruiting cycles and competitive investment banking internship interviews.

Over five fast-paced days, students will build both technical skills and real interview experience. Each day blends structured instruction on core finance and accounting concepts with hands-on mock interview questions and interactive workshops. You’ll walk away not just with knowledge—but with the confidence to speak fluently about banks, deals, and career pathways.

The Summer 2027 investment banking analyst recruiting process is expected to kick off with networking events and firm outreach beginning in September 2025, with formal interviews starting January 2026.

    This program provides full-time undergraduate students (business or non-business) with technical and behavioral training, supporting you in your efforts to secure a position in investment banking and other finance-related fields.

    Whether you’re aiming for Wall Street or exploring opportunities in finance, this program will give you tools, knowledge, and confidence to stand out in the interview process.

    Monday, August 18 – Friday, August 22, 2025

    9:00am – 5:00pm Daily (32 hours total)

    Kickoff session starts Monday at 12pm and final session ends Friday at 12:30pm.

    In-person at the UT Austin campus, with lectures, workshops, and interactive interview practice.

    Cost

    The enrollment fee is $2,500 including all materials, and breakfasts, and lunches. Travel and lodging are not included. 

    prerequisites

    While no previous business experience or education is needed, some basic knowledge of financial accounting and introductory finance (time value of money, etc.) will be beneficial. Participants should be comfortable with algebra and basic calculus.

    Xavier Sztejnberg

    Xavier Sztejnberg is the Founder and Director of Wall Street for McCombs (WSFM), a highly selective mentoring program that prepares top-performing UT Austin students for careers in financial services and alternative asset management. The program supports over 500 students and alumni, with a strong network in New York City and other global financial centers.

    At the McCombs School of Business, Sztejnberg also serves as an Assistant Professor of Instruction, where he teaches Valuation (FIN 286) and Introduction to Financial Management (BA 285) to more than 400 MBA students each year.

    Prior to joining McCombs, Sztejnberg was a senior executive in corporate development at Dell Technologies in Austin, TX, where he held multiple roles in acquisitions, divestitures and M&A Integration. Prior to Dell, Sztejnberg was an investment banker in New York at firms including Lazard Frères, Morgan Stanley, and The Blackstone Group where he was a Managing Director. Post-business school, Sztejnberg was also a strategy consultant with McKinsey.

    Sztejnberg earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

                Can I attend if I am not a student at the University of Texas?

                No, the Investment Banking Accelerator program is currently open only to full-time undergraduate students at the University of Texas at Austin.

                Is this program in-person or online?

                This program takes place in-person at UT Austin, at McCombs’ Graduate School of Business (GSB) building. It takes place from  Monday, August 18 – Friday, August 22, 2025 (the week prior to the start of the Fall semester).

                How long is the Investment Banking Accelerator?

                This intensive program runs for 32 hours and includes limited pre-work and evening assignments. The schedule is as follows:

                • Monday: Arrival and kick-off session begins at 12:00pm
                • Tuesday-Thursday: Class from 9:00am-5:00pm
                • Friday: 9:00am-12:30pm, including closing certificate presentation
                Will I earn college credit?

                No, this program is a non-credit intensive.

                Will I earn a certificate or a digital badge? 

                Yes, you will earn a certificate as well as a digital (LinkedIn) badge upon successful completion of the program.

                Are there financial support opportunities available? 

                We offer discounted admission to a limited number of students. This support is based upon need, and requires submitting an application. Our committee will review applications and notify those who qualify.
