Biography

Associate Director, Business Analytics Program, MSBA at McCombs School of Business, Senior Faculty, Information, Risk and Operations Management Department. • Executive MBA, University of Texas at Austin • M.S. and PhD, Texas Tech University • BS, National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, India Dr. Rajagopalan has a unique blend of academic and industry experience. Ramesh has made significant impact at various companies, including most recently at Dell, in a number of business critical areas including advanced analytics, supply chain management, cloud computing, operations management, and information technology. He is a seasoned academician with over a decade of undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, scholarship and service in large, small, private and public university settings. Recognition of his academic excellence includes tenured appointment, grants from agencies such as NSF & NREL, corporate collaborations and publications in leading journals. Throughout his 18+ years of corporate experience, Ramesh distinguished himself as a versatile leader. His work was recognized with VP awards on multiple occasions for “outside the box” innovation, and leading high impact initiatives with revenue impact of $200-$300 million. His experience includes leadership positions at Dell, IBM, and Deloitte. He is currently a senior faculty at the prestigious McCombs School of Business at UT Austin. He is passionate about blending his vast industry experience into his teaching various undergraduate and graduate courses. He will continue to focus on advancing the application and adoption of Analytics through research fostered by industry-university partnerships.
