BHP Community

With about 500 students, the Business Honors Program is a close-knit community inside the larger business school and university. BHP students are also heavily involved in student organizations in McCombs and at UT. As a BHP student, you will also have access to our community of 2,700 alumni through specific mentoring programs and networking events.

BHP Alumni Network

BHP Student Alumni
Our strong BHP alumni base is a huge asset to our current students. We have more than 2,500 alumni spread out across the nation and in locations across the world. BHP alumni stay involved after they graduate as admissions interviewers, student mentors and guests at student events. They are a powerful network who want to pay it forward and are willing to share their experience and advice with BHP students.
Mentoring >

The BHP Alumni Mentor Network is a program that connects alumni to BHP sophomores and juniors. It is an opportunity for current students to be mentored by alumni based on similar academic and/or professional interests. BHP alumni come from a variety of professional fields and many go on to top medical schools, law schools, MBA programs, and other graduate programs. Alumni mentors may provide advice to students on major and career exploration, career and/or graduate school preparation, professional development and balancing school, career and outside interests.

Intern Socials

Each summer BHP holds events to connect students interning in cities throughout Texas and in New York City with alumni living there. These events are a way for students to make connections with alumni in the area.

Chats & Dinners

We host a number of casual events such as coffee chats and dinners for alumni and students to connect throughout the year. These events are limited to a small number of students so that the students and alumni can get to know one another.

We spotlight one BHP alum every month on the BHP blog. These blog posts are a great opportunity for students to learn more about various career paths, lessons learned and to gain advice.

Peer Mentors

Every freshman in the program will have a peer mentor to help guide them through their first year.
